A Builder of the New Economy since 1999. Jason is the recipient of Business in Vancouver’s prestigious Top 40 under 40 Award. Over his career he has been featured in the Wallstreet Journal, Wired, Forbes, & Business Insider. Jason’s life purpose is to continue building the New Economy while staying on the bleeding edge of innovation by investing in the Next Gen of Fourth Industrial Revolution Founders (PVT & PUB markets) who are Building a Digital Frontier That Will Reshape the Human Condition. #4IR 🏗️

Jason is a high-integrity, driven executive with a broad range of strategic capabilities & extensive experience scaling high velocity (private or VC backed) companies. An award-winning leader with deep, senior-level operational leadership experience and a track record for establishing operational stability.

Jason led companies through significant growth & transformation in scaling its operations and in achieving improved efficiencies, processes, & outcomes across a range of key operating metrics.

He is an angel investor to Toronto based Carvalho Capital, an award-winning early stage angel investment firm.

As of 2021, Carvalho Capital aims to be the "First Cheque In" for emerging SpaceTech startups globally. Read more here.

In 1999, Jason started his career building internet companies who's products drove the development of the First and Second Waves of the Internet such as Netscape 8, to the award-winning venture capital backed eCommerce Men’s fashion brand disrupter: Indochino.com.

Jason is now focused on building and investing in the Third Wave of the Internet which has begun integrating seamlessly and pervasively through every aspect of our lives, changing how we live. He believes investing in diversity is a key component to building the New Economy of tomorrow.

For 20 years, he has dedicated his life to the development of a better society through (social) entrepreneurship, economic development and the building of the pillars and infrastructure of a New Economy which would power the coming Fourth Industrial Revolution.

WOODGREEN

As of 2017, Jason has been an active Board member of Toronto based, WoodGreen Foundation. As of 2021, Jason was the Chair of the Governance committee. Jason completed his 2nd term December of 2024. A United Way Anchor Agency, WoodGreen combines significant scale and a proven track record with an entrepreneurial mindset, continuously seeking and developing innovative solutions to critical social needs. With a rich history spanning more than 80 years, WoodGreen is one of the largest social service agencies in Toronto, serving 37,000 people each year from 36 locations.

The Canadian Social Entrepreneurship Foundation

After attending the first three Skoll World Forum’s on Social Entrepreneurship (starting in 2003) at Oxford University, UK, Jason founded The Canadian Social Entrepreneurship Foundation (“CSEF”), a national, not for profit that strives to educate, fund and celebrate Social Entrepreneurs in Canada.

The CSEF has been providing grants to Social Entrepreneurs across Canada since it’s inception in 2004. It currently ranks #2 for “social entrepreneurship” on Google for the last 10 years. CSEF ‘s work has been included in business school curriculum across Canada such as at McMaster University and social impact covered in Media outlets such as TrendHunter.com.

CSEF is supported by Social Entrepreneurs such as Jeff Skoll (Co-Founder Ebay & Founder of the Skoll Foundation), and David Bornstein, Author of “How To Change The World” and Social Entrepreneurial organizations such as Ashoka.org, and Skoll.org.

He previously, was the youngest Ministry Appointed Board of Governor at Douglas College (4yrs), Board Member (& workshops speaker) at Forum for Women’s Entrepreneur (3yrs), Chair of the Coquitlam Foundation (3yrs). As a board member he was a founding committee member of Canada’s first Technology Committee for a Post Secondary Educational Institution and served multiple years on Audit and Finance, HR and Governance Committees. He has served on Economic Development committees for local municipalities as well as been an advocate for small business and policy as a business plan judge / assessor for the prestigious World Bank Development Marketplace competition, Stanford BASES, MIT 100K , YELL Canada and UVIC’s Social Enterprise Business Plan Competition

In 2014, he led and co-founded Tricelerate, a unique not for profit startup incubator housed in a local library with a unique operating model; working with local government, libraries, school districts, chamber of commerces to successful drive new business development for the New Economy of Canada. Eg. Create new companies with Founders from Grade 10 to Seniors.

His documented work on Tricelerate is an example of what the private sector, local government and local education systems can achieve when they work together to drive innovation and change locally. Within the first year Tricelerate launched 5 successful startups such as Netcoins (who appeared on Dragon’s Den!)

PitchYourIdea was example of a successful business plan pitch challenge launched by Jason & Tricelerate to high school students from grade 10 and up that successfully promoted youth entrepreneurship provincially with the end result being the creation of 3 businesses who’s founders were still in high school. The power of youth is astounding!

Jason has been deeply involved with The Forum (TheForum.ca), serving as both a mentor since 2010 and a former member of its Board of Directors. His longstanding commitment to the organization reflects his dedication to fostering entrepreneurship, particularly in empowering women-led ventures to scale and succeed. As a trusted business coach and mentor, Jason has provided strategic guidance to countless founders, helping them navigate the complexities of investment, growth, and market expansion. Frequently sought after as a guest panelist and workshop speaker, he shares insights on venture investing, scaling businesses, and the intersection of social entrepreneurship and economic innovation. His work with The Forum aligns with his broader mission of building a diverse, resilient economy—one that champions innovation, inclusivity, and the transformative potential of entrepreneurship in shaping Canada’s New Economy.

Jason has been a steadfast advocate for amplifying the voices of minorities in Canada. His commitment was exemplified as a guest panelist and speaker at the Minorities in Canada – Coming Together Conference, held from November 18-20, 2019, at the Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa.

The conference convened a distinguished roster of academics, authors, and community leaders, addressing critical themes of rights, education, and the economy. Jason’s participation underscored his dedication to confronting systemic challenges and fostering a more inclusive and equitable Canada.

Jason spoke at the recent #RogersTalks talks in Ottawa at the National Arts Centre. Business leaders, industry experts and professionals came together at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa on October 25th 2018 around the theme of Prioritizing people in a digital world. Spec Thanks to City Host Samsung, and sponsors Google and LG.

He is an active supporter of Politics in Canada, having worked on 14 campaigns (Eg. Civic, Provincial, Federal & Leadership) since the age of 21.

Whether it be door knocker, fundraiser or Financial Agent, Jason is committed to volunteering in any capacity to ensure everyone has a chance to vote.

He is formerly a Director of the University of Rosedale Riding Association and now a Director of Fundraising on the Beaches East York Riding Association in Toronto, Ontario. He is currently an active Red Trillum member of the Ontario Liberal Party, and a Laurier Club member of the Federal Liberal Party of Canada.

When he’s not busy volunteering, you can find Jason working on his purpose driven cartoon studio Creativology, and oil painting nature scenes of Canada. Jason has travelled extensively in Europe and Asia. His Mother & Father immigrated and settled in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
